Inventory
Feature and functional capabilities are highly customisable according to the customer operations. DISTRiX allows maximum flexibility beyond the scope of this document.
DISTRiX enables hierarchies of inventory to be held, managed and reported. Up to four levels of hierarchy enable inventory to be tracked across multiple locations and companies. Those levels are: multiple companies, multiple divisions within a company (exploration, refining), multiple sites (e.g. Houston, Calgary) and multiple departments (field service, manufacturing). Each site can carry dispatch and report stock as physical locations or hold stock in logical locations.
Inventory may be categorised in 1-3 levels of product hierarchy i.e. Domestic goods, white goods, dishwasher. Additionally inventory may be grouped according to, colour, size or associated with other parts in a parent and child relationship.
Stock can be booked and dispatched according to any currency (including Euro triangulation) and it's value reported in the home currency.
Full stock status is held, and may be counted by four methods (perpetual, product class, full count, optional value cut off).
Inventory Management
Accurate inventory management is the key to profitable customer service. Inventory is also a major financial asset requiring regular valuation and measurement.
